The infamous street art pioneer, Banksy, is at it again but this time through a completely new medium – a TV series opening. Last night’s episode of The Simpsons took a detour into Banksy’s mind to reflect some of his views on 20th Century Fox and their alleged reliance on inhumane foreign labor. The opening is rumored to have been story-boarded and directed by Banksy himself.
A one time thing or will we see Banksy take his art off the streets and further into the mainstream????
Let us know what you think
So, I hope you were lucky enough to have seen the YouTube clip from last night’s Simpsons episode, which we had posted here. Due to a copyright complaint from 20th Century Fox, the video has been taken down. But….here are some still shots from the opening. Who do you love?
[UPDATE] Longtime Simpsons producer, Al Jean, has confirmed direct dealings with Banksy’s people in order to make the above clip happen. The ideas, story boards and art are all Banksy. If there is a negative, it is that he did not get to meet Banksy during the process. For those who do not know, Banksy is hyper secretive about his identity and for good reason.

For all of you street art enthusiasts out there, you probably already know about the rash of new Banksy pieces being put up all over the country. These new works are to promote his new movie, Exit Through the Gift Shop, which is already playing in select theatres.
